The Fuzz Pawtrol

Frequently Asked Questions

Booking and Services

How does pet sitting work with The Fuzz Pawtrol?

We provide professional cat/pet-care services where an experienced and trained caretaker visits your home to take care of your pets while you’re away. As opposed to boarding, this provides care within the comfort of your cats’ home so they can have a stress-free experience and can maintain their routine.

Here’s how it typically works:

  1. Initial screening – Our team will send new clients a short questionnaire to share details about your pet care needs. This will help determine if our services are able to meet your needs.
  2. Meet and Greet – after screening, we will schedule a meet and greet with you to meet the pet(s) and ensure we’re a good fit.
  3. Booking – After the meet and greet, we’ll confirm the booking dates and send you the schedule, care details, and invoice for care services.
  4. Visits – Your caretaker will come to your home for pet sitting services. You will receive updates (photos, videos, and a recap) after every visit so you know your pet is happy and cared for.

How do I book your services?

If you’re a new client, please use the contact form to get in touch.
For existing clients, please email us, or text Andrea.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 3 days in advance. For holiday scheduling, we recommend booking at least 3-4 weeks in advance.

We are able to accept last-minute bookings depending on schedule availability. Reach out as soon as you know you need pet care.

How do you receive payments?

We are able to accept Zelle, Paypal, Venmo, cash, or cheque.

Gratuity is appreciated but not required.

What is your cancellation policy?

50% refund to client for services canceled within 7 days of initial booking date. 25% refund to client for all services canceled within 2 days of initial booking date.

For any cancellations made during the course of the reservation, a refund for the unused visits will be issued in the form of a credit towards a future booking.

Security and Emergencies

How do you handle keys?

For non-local clients, there is a $15 travel service fee for key pickup or drop off. To avoid the fee, clients may:

  • • Install a secure lockbox at their property
  • • Provide a copy of the house keys for us to keep on file
  • • Drop off and pick up the keys at the sitter’s home

What if my sitter gets locked out?

It is the client’s responsibility to make sure the keys provided work. If the keys provided are incorrect or if the sitter can’t get into the home due to client error, the client is responsible for covering the cost of a locksmith and creating keys if necessary. If the lockout is due to a sitter mistake, The Fuzz Pawtrol will cover the cost of a locksmith and re-keying if needed.

What if my cat has a medical emergency?

All clients are required to disclose their cats’ veterinarian information and have an emergency contact on file. In the case of an emergency, we will contact you immediately and discuss if the cat needs to be taken to their primary vet or the emergency room and logistics.

Special Situations

What if my cat is an outdoor or indoor/outdoor cat?

Due to liability risks and concerns for the safety of your pets, we will not allow any of your cats outside for the duration of any reservation. Clients may opt to sign a release of liability for cats that require outside time in their routine, but this is limited to homes with secured outdoor spaces only.

Can my friend/family member/etc stay in the home while I’m gone?

For the safety of your home and your pets, we have a strict policy that no one else is permitted to live in the home for the duration of the bookings and strongly recommend that no one else is the home while our sitters are onsite.

If you prefer to have a friend or family member check on the cats when our sitters are not scheduled to be in the home, we require that you provide us with their contact information and coordinate a schedule so we can avoid any overlap and gaps in care.
